Yes, we require an initial deposit before starting work on your project. This is typically 50% of the amount agreed upon prior to beginning services.

Q: What platforms do you build websites on?

As of August 1, 2025 , Barefoot Build exclusively creates websites on WordPress . We absolutely love partnering with businesses using other website management systems (WMS), and we understand there are many great platforms out there. However, we’ve found that certain platform constraints can limit our ability to deliver the creative design, functionality, and long-term growth our clients deserve. To ensure every website we build is flexible, scalable, and fully optimized, we’ve made the decision to migrate all current sites to WordPress. Once your site is on WordPress, we can also handle ongoing maintenance and updates, so you can focus on running your business while we manage the technical side. For clients who need an online store, we use WooCommerce, a highly intuitive e-commerce platform that is competitive with Shopify and other common platforms. WooCommerce makes it easy for you to manage products, inventory, and payments, while giving your customers a seamless shopping experience. This change allows us to consistently deliver the high-quality, tailored results our clients expect, while giving you the freedom to grow and adapt your website as your business evolves.

Q: How do I update plugins and themes?

Within the admin panel, go to the "Dashboard" and select "Updates." Here, you'll see available updates for plugins and themes. It's advisable to back up your site before proceeding with any updates to prevent potential issues.
