- Working With Barefoot Build
Absolutely. Every website we build includes foundational SEO to help search engines understand your business from day one.
This includes optimized page titles and meta descriptions, heading structure, image alt text, schema where appropriate, internal linking, mobile optimization, fast loading pages, and a clean site structure. We also optimize content for AI powered search platforms so your website is prepared for how people search today.
Yes. Once your website is launched, you will have full access to make updates and changes as needed. We build sites using user-friendly platforms, ensuring that you can manage content, update products, and make basic edits without needing advanced technical skills. If this is something important to you, please make that known during our initial consultation.
However, we highly recommend our ongoing Care Plan to keep your website secure, optimized, and running smoothly. Websites require regular updates, backups, and maintenance to prevent security vulnerabilities and performance issues. If you choose not to have Barefoot Build maintain your site, we are not responsible for any issues that arise after launch.

Absolutely! We specialize in redesigning and updating websites on WordPress.
If your current website is on another platform, we can easily migrate it to WordPress so you can take advantage of a more flexible, scalable, and feature-rich platform. Once your site is on WordPress, we can help with redesigns, updates, and ongoing maintenance, ensuring your website looks modern, functions smoothly, and grows with your business.
For clients with online stores, we use WooCommerce, a user-friendly e-commerce platform that competes with Shopify and other popular solutions. This allows you to easily manage products, payments, and inventory while giving your customers a seamless shopping experience.
We ask for 4-6 weeks to complete this process.
Absolutely!
Every website we build is designed to work across desktop computers, tablets, and mobile devices. Since more than half of visitors will view your website on their phone, mobile responsiveness is a standard part of every project we complete.
Most website projects are completed within 4 to 6 weeks.
Project timelines can vary depending on the size of the website, how quickly content and feedback are provided, and any custom functionality required. We’ll provide a realistic timeline before your project begins and keep you updated throughout the process.
Every project is different, so pricing depends on the size of the website, functionality required, and the overall scope of work.
We offer free consultations and personalized estimates so you’ll know exactly what to expect before any work begins. Our goal is to provide professional websites that fit the needs and budgets of small businesses.
Upon your website’s completion, we’ll provide you with a secure link, username, and password to access the admin panel. This will enable you to manage and update your site’s content as needed. Please reference the email that we sent on launch day with the subject line, “Admin Info”
If you’ve forgotten your password, use the “Forgot Password” link on the login page to reset it. If you encounter any issues during this process, please reach out to us for assistance.
After logging into the admin panel, navigate to the “Pages” or “Posts” section. Click on “Add New” and use the editor to craft your content. Once satisfied, click “Publish” to make it live on your site.
Regular backups are crucial for safeguarding your site’s data. If you’re enrolled in our maintenance plan, we handle backups for you. Otherwise, we recommend installing a reliable backup plugin or contacting us for guidance on setting up manual backups. Please reference our blog posts on this as well.
Within the admin panel, go to the “Dashboard” and select “Updates.” Here, you’ll see available updates for plugins and themes. We always advise you to back up your site before proceeding with any updates to prevent potential issues.
First, verify your internet connection and try accessing your site from a different device or network. If the issue persists, please contact us immediately so we can diagnose and resolve the problem promptly.

As of August 1, 2025, Barefoot Build exclusively creates websites on WordPress.
We absolutely love partnering with businesses using other website management systems (WMS), and we understand there are many great platforms out there. However, we’ve found that certain platform constraints can limit our ability to deliver the creative design, functionality, and long-term growth our clients deserve.
To ensure every website we build is flexible, scalable, and fully optimized, we’ve made the decision to migrate all current sites to WordPress. Once your site is on WordPress, we can also handle ongoing maintenance and updates, so you can focus on running your business while we manage the technical side.
For clients who need an online store, we use WooCommerce, a highly intuitive e-commerce platform that is competitive with Shopify and other common platforms. WooCommerce makes it easy for you to manage products, inventory, and payments, while giving your customers a seamless shopping experience.
This change allows us to consistently deliver the high-quality, tailored results our clients expect, while giving you the freedom to grow and adapt your website as your business evolves.
If you have any questions, please reach out.
Absolutely. Barefoot Build is based in Cary, NC and works with businesses throughout Raleigh, Durham, Apex, Holly Springs, Morrisville, Wake Forest, Chapel Hill, and the surrounding Triangle area. We also work with clients across North Carolina and throughout the United States. For local businesses, our familiarity with the Triangle market helps us create websites and Google Business Profiles that reflect how people actually search for services in the area.
At a minimum, your website should be reviewed every few months to ensure plugins, themes, forms, and security features are functioning properly. Content should be updated whenever services, pricing, team members, or business information changes. Regular updates also signal to Google that your website is active and maintained, which can help support search visibility over time.
Yes. Your website and Google Business Profile serve different purposes. Your website gives visitors detailed information about your business, while your Google Business Profile helps people find you in local search results and on Google Maps. Businesses that have both a properly optimized website and an active Google Business Profile generally have a stronger online presence than those relying on only one or the other.
Yes. We regularly migrate websites from platforms like Wix, Squarespace, and Showit to WordPress. During the migration process, we preserve important content, images, SEO information, and redirects whenever possible. WordPress offers greater flexibility, ownership, and long term scalability for most small businesses.
A successful website does more than look good. It clearly explains what you do, builds trust through reviews and case studies, answers common questions, and makes it easy for visitors to take the next step. Strong calls to action, fast loading speeds, mobile responsiveness, and clear messaging all play a role in turning website visitors into leads and customers.
Most new websites begin appearing in Google within a few days to a few weeks after launch. However, ranking for competitive search terms often takes longer. Factors such as website content, local competition, backlinks, Google Business Profile optimization, and ongoing updates all influence how quickly a website gains visibility in search results.
Yes. We offer free website audits for small businesses. During the audit, we’ll review your website’s design, user experience, mobile responsiveness, SEO foundation, performance, and conversion opportunities. You’ll receive practical recommendations with no obligation to move forward with a project.
Not every business needs ongoing marketing, but every business benefits from keeping its website active. Search engines and AI search platforms favor websites that continue to publish helpful content and stay up to date. We offer flexible monthly plans as well as one time marketing projects, so you can choose the level of support that fits your business and budget.
Absolutely. Not every business needs a brand new website.
We can improve an existing WordPress website by updating the design, improving speed, strengthening SEO, refreshing content, fixing technical issues, optimizing for AI search, or adding new functionality. If your current website has a solid foundation, updating it can often be a cost effective way to improve your online presence.
If we believe a rebuild would provide better long term value, we’ll explain why and let you decide which option makes the most sense.
Yes. Although we’re based in North Carolina, we work with businesses across the United States.
Everything from planning and design to revisions, training, and support can be completed remotely through video calls, email, and screen sharing. Whether you’re local or across the country, you’ll receive the same personalized service and communication throughout your project.
Yes. As search continues to evolve, more people are finding businesses through AI powered platforms in addition to traditional search engines.
We create clear, well structured content that helps both search engines and AI systems understand your business. This includes helpful articles, FAQs, service pages, case studies, internal linking, and technical optimization that improve your chances of being referenced in AI generated search results.
Yes. Many clients start with a new website and decide to expand their marketing over time. Whether you’re interested in SEO, AI search optimization, Google Business Profile management, blog writing, landing pages, or content strategy, we’ll recommend the next steps when you’re ready. There’s no pressure to do everything at once.
